ESU Wireless Network - Guest Access Availability
While visiting Emporia State University, campus guests can connect to the ESU.Guest wireless network from most areas on the main ESU campus. Guest wireless access is a great solution for things like campus visits, conferences, conventioned, and other demonstrations and events.
Guest wireless is a free services intended for use by visitors requiring short-term access to the wireless network to perform general Internet activities. It is an unsecured connection and should not be used to send or receive sensitive information.
Members of the Emporia State University community who hold an ESU username (BuzzIn username) should continue to use the main ESU wireless network.
Guest Wireless Registration
When a guest arrives on campus and attempts to access the Internet using a computer or other mobile device, they should choose "ESU.Guest" from the list of available wireless networks. During registration, guest are required to accept the University' information technology usage policy (ITUP) and provide their contact information.
The guest wireless network supports MS Windows, Mac OS X, iOS, Android, and Windows Mobile devices.
Access is granted for a a 24-hour period that begins at the time of registration. Guests may re-register after each 24-hour, as needed.
It has been reported that some Android devices need to be powered off and then turned back on after the registration process is complete.
Users with hard-coded DNS servers will be unable to access the registration page.
